Line Visualization and Image Capture System Meets the Daily Monitoring Needs of the Power Grid

Author: Visits:6 Date:2026-10-19

Urban and rural distribution network lines are widely dispersed, with a large number of utility poles and towers located in areas with poor accessibility, such as mountains, forests, and ravines, which poses significant challenges for routine inspections. Distribution networks have numerous nodes and complex routing, and many locations are inaccessible by vehicle, forcing operations and maintenance personnel to climb poles on foot to conduct inspections—a process that is time-consuming and labor-intensive. To address the need for remote, visual monitoring of distribution network lines, Dingxin Smart Technology has launched the DX-WPS100-JP5Line Visualization Image Monitoring Device, a multi-camera online monitoring system for distribution network poles and towers. It uses multiple cameras to capture images, remotely monitor potential hazards along line corridors. It is used in scenarios such as preventing external damage to distribution networks, monitoring crossings over roads, bridges, and power lines, tree obstructions, and the movement of construction cranes and vehicles crossing power lines.

The complete line visualization and monitoring system consists of a main control unit, a communication module, a power supply module, a quad-lens camera, and a wireless transmission unit. It relies on front-end PTZ cameras to capture video footage and supports transmission via 4G, 5G, or APN private networks, transmitting images and videos in real time to the monitoring backend to enable round-the-clock online monitoring of utility poles and right-of-ways.

Far Superior to Traditional Inspections

1. All-around monitoring is incredibly powerful: It features an integrated design that combines forward-facing and downward-facing (tower base) camera monitoring, providing all-around surveillance of power distribution lines and towers—just like hiring a 24-hour personal bodyguard for the lines and towers. Nothing escapes its watchful eye.

2. Adjust the camera angles as you like: The front dual-camera setup consists of a 16-megapixel and a 2-megapixel combination. The front cameras’ angles can be manually adjusted vertically between -30° and 30°, allowing them to easily adapt to any terrain—whether it’s a straight, level tower, a downhill slope, or an uphill climb. The rear camera is also 16 megapixels and can be manually adjusted, making it suitable for a wide range of scenarios. There’s also the wide-angle downward-view camera, featuring a 120° wide-angle lens that monitors the tower base and its surroundings, providing a much wider field of view than a standard lens.

3. Ultra-Precise Smart Alerts: The device’s front end incorporates smart analysis algorithms that can automatically identify potential hazards and issue precise alerts, with an accuracy rate as high as 98 percent. It’s like equipping the circuit with a “smart brain” that can detect potential dangers in advance.

Power setup is incredibly convenient: It uses a 9.6V/20AH lithium iron phosphate battery and features a 30W solar power system, so you never have to worry about running out of power. The mounting bracket features a special structural design that allows the main unit and the solar panel to be adjusted 360° horizontally, while the entire bracket can be adjusted 180° vertically, making installation quick and easy.
